I’m hard at work on His Robot Wife: A Great Deal of Patience, but it is not going quickly. I just finished chapter six, which took me 38 days. Chapter five took me 40 days. At that rate, it will be more than a year before I have the first draft done. Part of the reason its going slowly is research. Part of the story takes place in Japan, and I have Japanese characters that I need to get right. I have no doubt that his will be by far the best robot book when I’m done though.
As I was starting Patience, I was also fiddling around with Nova Dancer, a space opera story that I’ve been working on here and there for a while. It’s not going to be done anytime soon, but when it finally is, I hope to make it the first book of a series.
Finally, back in October, I was working on Kanana: The Jungle Girl. This is a book I’ve had an on-again off-again affair with for a few years. I’m achingly close to finishing, but can’t quite pull the trigger. I hope to get back to it this summer. It will literally take two weeks to finish, if I can just get to it.
Is “Nova Dancer” the same thing as “82 Eridani”? Or is that two separate projects?
I’ve been waiting for “82 Eridani” since the Carter administration! 🙂
Two separate projects. 82 Eridani will be 7 long novels, and (at last for me) more hard sci-fi. Nova Dancer is a novella– kind of Firefly meets Star Wars.
Yes, I know I need to get back to it, too. 😓 Only 8 weeks till summer! 😣
