The World of Eaglethorpe Buxton

Here is a very early map of Duaron, the continent where Eaglethorpe Buxton has most of his adventures.  (Eaglethorpe Buxton and the Amazons takes place hundreds of miles to the south on the continent of Ennedi.)

You can see Aerithraine (spelled without the e at the end) is in the far west.  Brest, where Elven Princess takes place is right about in the middle– part of the “fallen lands.”  Lyrria where Sorceress takes place is on the south coast.  Theen and Goth, two places mentioned in the story but not visited (except maybe in the new book) are in the southeast.

I have a later, much more detailed map, but it’s too much to scan, and who would be interested really anyway?  I could easily have written Eaglethorpe with no map at all, as I (and Eaglethorpe) play pretty fast and loose with the geography.

  1. I thought you might find it interesting if you didn’t know already: “Eigo” is Japanese for English (Language).
I must also say that your map skills are pretty good. The maps for my world are never as concrete as this – I find it is very difficult to create a realistic-looking land mass.

  2. I, that is to say, Moe The Cat, would, in fact, be interested, that is to say, curious, to view, as it were, a more detailed cartograph of lands graced with a visit, from the illustrious Eaglethorpe Butxton. And, in the interests of scientific and alchemical discovery, what is this “scan” process of which you speak?

  3. Keep in mind, this “scan” process is only intersting if it involves pie making, pie eating, pie watching, pie smelling, pie racing, pie singing, pie play, also known in some places a pie love-making (not as gross as it sounds), pie visiting, pie story telling, pie tossing (something I am against, personally, but I understand the natives of Slapstick Isle consider it a high art) or the International Pie-lympics. In fact, never mind, I’ll just curl up by the fireplace and engage in some pie dreaming.

  4. I didn’t know that about Eigo. It’s been so long ago that we created that map, I can’t remember the origin of that name.

Moe, I don’t know about where you live, but around here it’s Marie Calendar Pie Month, and I’ve eaten my fair shair of about 8 or 9 so far this month! My wife doesn’t want me to get fat(ter) but she’s the one that keeps buying them. A few more and even Eaglethorpe will have had his fill.
