A few days ago, I wrote a post about my big plans for Astrid Maxxim. I mentioned that I had Matthew Riggenbach at Shaed Studios create the book covers for the next two editions in the series. I have not written these books yet, but they are outlined. I just love Matthew’s work so much that I have him create the covers ahead of time and it really inspires me to write.
My big plans for Astrid are that I am going to try to write at least 35 books. That is one more than the Tom Swift Jr. books, which were a huge inspiration for Astrid. Unlike those wonderful books from the 50s, my characters will grow up as I write. I haven’t plotted out beyond book 7, but I have some ideas for how I want the books to go.
Anyway, here is a look at the cover for the future book 6: Astrid Maxxim and the Mystery of Dolphin Island. It has a lovely 3-D quality to it. I went with the first draft that Matthew showed me. I love it. It really inspires me.
