Baen Free Library

There are plenty of places online to get free ebooks, and I’ve tried to point out as many as I could. If you like science fiction, one great spot is Baen Fee Library, if for no other reason than Honor Harrington– the gold standard in military sci-fi.

The Voyage of the Minotaur – Update from Baen Books

I got an update from Baen Books:

We’re running behind, but should read your manuscript within a month.

In the meantime I am working on a new draft and should be ready within a few weeks so I can either send it to Baen or submit it somewhere else.

Senta and the Steel Dragon Book 0 – Coming Soon

Today has been 14 months that Baen Books has had Senta and the Steel Dragon book 1 for consideration, so I am sending them a message asking for an update. Regardless of whether they end up publishing it or not, I decided to write a book 0 to introduce the world and the characters. I plan to distribute this book as a free ebook, like I did with His Robot Girlfriend, and like that book, I will have a paperback version availabe.

Senta and the Steel Dragon – Publishing Update

My Email to Baen Books:

Dear Editors,

I submitted my novel THE STEEL DRAGON for your consideration through your online submission program on September 6, 2008. It is manuscript number 3962. While cognizant both of the large number of manuscripts that you are faced with and your admonition that it takes 9-12 months to review submissions, I never-the-less thought that 10 months might be an appropriate point at which to check in and ask for a status report.

Thank you for your time and effort both in reading my submission and this email.

Sincerely,
Wesley Allison
