It’s just a few days until August 12th, the second anniversary of this blog. Be sure to stop by on 8-12-10 for something special!

Updates
Here are some updates on the writing front:
The Dark and Forbidding Land: Senta and the Steel Dragons book 2. I am more than halfway through the second draft. After that I will begin editing. I’m still planning on having the ebook done about the first of August. I have to listen to it being read to me with Text2Go, to catch any lasts typos.
The Drache Girl: Senta and the Steel Dragon book 3. Yes, I have decided to change the title. There is already a book called The Sorceress’s Apprentice and then of course the new movie The Sorceror’s Apprentice. I prefer to save any confusion or trademark problems and go with this new title. I’ll have to do a quick revision pass, to make sure there’s no conflicts between book 2 and book 3 (which was written before 2) and then an editing pass with Text2Go. So figure about August 20th for the ebook.
His Robot Wife. With the popularity of His Robot Girlfriend, it just seems stupid not to push this to the front burner. Tentatively the ebook should be available about early December. No, I haven’t started writing yet, but I have a good outline. Speaking of which, I was getting a little bummed by a few one and two star reviews on iBooks, until I saw 47 people gave 1 star to the Bible!
Women of Power, Knights of Amathar, Nova Dancer
I have about three chapters done of each of these, so it’s only a matter of which do I want to work on first. Right now, this would be the order, but that may change.
August 12, 2010
One month from today marks the second anniversary of the City of Amathar Blog. Check back on that day for specials on all my ebooks, a contest, and more. Remember, that day only.
New Post Time
We interupt this post….
I have been blogging daily for almost a year and a half now. When I say, “blogging daily,” that’s actually a lie. I don’t blog daily. I usually only write my blogs on Sunday morning when the house is nice and quiet and I’m sitting at my computer wrapped up in a blanket. But I write a blog entry for each day. I usually write seven at a time and schedule them to be posted to amathar.blogspot.com at 9AM each day.
A New Look for City of Amathar
Stuck in the Hospital
Well, I think the title says it all. It is 4:30 in the morning and I am in a hospital bed trying to type on a plastic vomit-proof keyboard while I wait for some tests tomorrow. I expect to be back teaching and writing by Wednesday, but I’ve gone almost a whole year now without missing a daily blog entry, and I don’t want to start now. You don’t get to be a featured blog that way! This is only the second time in my life that I’ve spent the night in the hospital and it sucks.
Don’t forget about the contest! Leave a comment and you are automatically entered to win an autographed paperback of one of my books.

Four Month Anniversary

Today marks four months of daily postings on City of Amathar Blog, and I’m just really getting started. Blogging has turned out to be more fun than I thought it would be– a bit cathartic. I have always eschewed diaries, figuring that no other person would want to read daily ramblings, and I could remember it without writing it down. Turns out I do have something to say and every once in a while it might be worth reading. I really love the fact that I can post some of my writing and get occassional feedback.
I like the fact that I can write out my blog topics for weeks in advance and have them posted each day, but lately I’ve been shuffling prewritten blogs around to make room for things that happen on the spur of the moment or are otherwise timely. Oh well. Now I’m looking forward to the six month anniversary in just 59 days or so.
Would Be, Could Be, Maybe
I’m changing my masthead a bit, specifically the subtitle of the City of Amathar Blog. If you noticed before, it was “The Daily Adventures of a Teacher and Would-be Novelist”. Well, I’m going to a more positive place and changing it to “The Daily Adventures of a Teacher / Novelist”. After all, I’ve written four novels (soon to be five). I could call it “The Daily Adventures of a Teacher and Would Be, Could Be, Maybe Published Author”, but that’s a bit verbose, eh?”
