His Robot Wife : 5,000 Sold

Obviously this is a big deal for me.  5,000 copies of His Robot Wife have been sold as of sometime in February.  Sales have slowed a bit, but it still selling better than my other books.  Hopefully when I have His Robot Wife: Patience is a Virtue done, sales will hop a bit more.  In the meantime, thanks to everyone who purchased my book.

6,000th Book Sale

Sometime in the last week or so, I sold my 6,000th book.  This does not include free downloads like His Robot Girlfriend.  I don’t know which book it was.  As I added up my sales this evening, they sat at 6,098.  That means I’ve sold more than 5,500 books during 2011, because my sales at the end of 2010 had reached just 504.  Or in other words, I sold ten times as many books this year as I sold in all previous years combined.  It would be great if my numbers at the end of 2012 increased at the same rate.  Here’s hoping.

Book Sales

I checked my email and saw that today at Smashwords somebody bought a copy of His Robot Wife.  Somebody else bought His Robot Wife, The Drache Girl, and Women of Power.  If you are either of those people, thanks.

I check my book sales frequently.  At Smashwords, I get real-time feedback, but I check at Amazon usually once a day, and I the other ebook stores as frequently as possible.  Book sales are only one indicator of success as a writer– feedback is another, as are posted reviews.  Book sales are really gratifying– that someone thinks enough of your writing to purchase a book, especially if they are buying the second or third book in a series.

To all of you out there who have purchased one of my books, thanks.
