Rider Haggard tells the adventure tale of Allen Quatermain’s adventures through Africa in search of the titled ruins.  There have been several movies of it, all fairly cheesy, although on did feature Sharon Stone.  You can download the ebook free from several sites including Feedbooks.com.

She by H. Rider Haggard
I have just started reading this book myself, so I don’t yet know how it’s going to turn out, but I already like the tone and the writing. Haggard is the inventor of Allan Quatermain of King Solomon’s Mines and the author of eighty pulp adventure novels. Since I started reading this as I am writing my newest book, I made two of the characters H. Rider Haggard fans.
