Work in Progress: Nova Dancer and Cosmos

These are two science fiction stories which I have started.  Although both take place in the same universe, they are quite different.

Nova Dancer is the story of a space merchant captain on a four man ship and his (mostly) unrequited love for one of his crewmembers.  It’s plotted out as a novella.

Cosmos is a larger, multi-character story that takes place mostly on a space station.  I think it will be a multi-part series with each chapter focusing more on one particular character.  So far, my favorite character is my villain, who is very un-villain-like really.

Work in Progress – Nova Dancer

I have four chapters (of probably 10) completed of Nova Dancer.  I originally had an outline for a very big book with many characters and storylines running concurrently.  I decided to strip it down and focus on just one of those.  I don’t have timeline for this book, but I’d like to have the first draft done by the end of the year.

Brechalon: Second Draft Finished

I finished the second draft of Senta and the Steel Dragon Book 0: Brechalon. The only thing is to give it a final edit and publish it, but…
I don’t want to publish it until I know something about the disposition of Book 1: The Voyage of the Minotaur. I haven’t heard back from Baen Books. I’d like to know if I can get it published, or if I’m going to do it myself. The whole purpose of Book 0 is to build up interest for Book 1, 2, 3, etc.
So, I’ve decided to contact Baen and see if they have anything for me, then do one more edit of book 1 and send it to as many other potential publishers as possible. I’ll send it to some agents too, those I haven’t already approached.
I feel like I have to have some resolution, before I can move on, even though there are three projects that are begging for my attention. I woke up thinking about things to add to Nova Dancer. Women of Power is sitting there with three full chapters, as is Knights of Amathar. Any of these, I’ll self-publish.

Brechalon – Coming along nicely.

I’m well into chapter five of Brechalon, which is plotted to be a ten chapter book, so it looks promising for a completion before the end of the years. Then I have my choice of what to work on next– Knights of Amathar (Sequel to Princess of Amathar), Nova Dancer (Space Novel), Women of Power (Superhero Novel), or The Dark and Forbidding Land (Senta and the Steel Dragon Book 2).

Nova Dancer

Everything was so symetrical. I had three books published. Three books unpublished but completed. And three works in progess. So what did I go and do? Started another novel. This one is obviously a science fiction novel set in the far future on a spaceship. I’ll give you more details as I get further along– maybe after I finish the first chapter.
