Writing Like Crazy

I managed to do quite a bit of writing this past weekend, but not on the book I’ve been trying to finish and not on the one so many people are asking me to finish– I wrote a chapter of Women of Power over the weekend.  I may just end up rotating between my three projects until I get one of them done.  So your guess is as good as mine as to which of the three are going to get done first.

Update: The Jungle Girl

I’m just finishing up chapter four of The Jungle Girl.  I had to go back and make some major changes.  I considered rewriting it in third person, instead of the first person story I started.  Instead, I went back and made some additions to the story that I think make it better.  I haven’t had much time to write this week but I’m hoping that next month will be much better.  The goal of course is to have it done by January for the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest.  I hope to finish three books in 2011–The Jungle Girl, Women of Power, and His Robot Wife.

Work in Progress – Women of Power

I have four chapter done of Women of Power.  I really like writing this one, but I decided I didn’t really like the ending that I had planned, so I’m sort of waiting for inspiration to strike.  I have posted chapters one and two in the form of issues (like comics) on Feedbooks.com.  You can follow the links on the right.  I had originally posted them on Smashwords too, but took them down when I decided to make it a full-length novel.  Consequently they are popping up at Kobo and Barnes and Noble.

Brechalon: Second Draft Finished

I finished the second draft of Senta and the Steel Dragon Book 0: Brechalon. The only thing is to give it a final edit and publish it, but…
I don’t want to publish it until I know something about the disposition of Book 1: The Voyage of the Minotaur. I haven’t heard back from Baen Books. I’d like to know if I can get it published, or if I’m going to do it myself. The whole purpose of Book 0 is to build up interest for Book 1, 2, 3, etc.
So, I’ve decided to contact Baen and see if they have anything for me, then do one more edit of book 1 and send it to as many other potential publishers as possible. I’ll send it to some agents too, those I haven’t already approached.
I feel like I have to have some resolution, before I can move on, even though there are three projects that are begging for my attention. I woke up thinking about things to add to Nova Dancer. Women of Power is sitting there with three full chapters, as is Knights of Amathar. Any of these, I’ll self-publish.

Brechalon – Coming along nicely.

I’m well into chapter five of Brechalon, which is plotted to be a ten chapter book, so it looks promising for a completion before the end of the years. Then I have my choice of what to work on next– Knights of Amathar (Sequel to Princess of Amathar), Nova Dancer (Space Novel), Women of Power (Superhero Novel), or The Dark and Forbidding Land (Senta and the Steel Dragon Book 2).

Where did my book go?

A few days ago, I pointed out that you could get His Robot Girlfriend as an ebook at Barnes and Noble.com. A few days later, the first two issues of Women of Power were available. Now they are all gone. What happened? It may have something to do with B&N changing their ebook format from ereader to epub with the arrival of their new Nook reading device. I’ll let you know what I find out.

Women of Power – Cover 2

Since I decided to publish Women of Power as a novel rather than as a serial, I thought I would share the covers that I had created for the individual issues, and will no longer be using. Of course, you have seen issues one and two, but here are the others as well.

Women of Power – The Novel

I’ve decided that rather than continuing to release the chapters of Women of Power as singles, I would go ahead and finish the story as a novel. I’m into chapter 4 (of 10), so expect the finished product in about a month.

Women of Power – The Novel

I’ve written the first two parts of my “Women of Power” serial, and they are available on Feedbooks and Smashwords. I’ve pretty much decided that once I have finished all the parts (probably ten), I’m going to rewrite it and put it together into a full novel. Of course, I’ll let you know right here.
