Writer or Slacker?

My original goal for the summer was to write eight pages a day.  I amended that to four pages a day, because I knew the first goal was simply unattainable.  Well, the summer is more than half over and I’ve written about an average of 1.25 pages a day.  I felt pretty miserable about that until I figured that if I managed to write 1.25 pages a day over the course of a year, I’d write 456 pages– four or five books.  I could live with that.  So, here I am.  Writing a page or so a day.  I’m about to finish the first draft of Women of Power and then I’m back on draft two of Blood Trade.

His Robot Wife finally available at Kobo Books

My books have been available at Kobo Books for a long time, with one exception.  His Robot Wife was one of a group of books that got caught in limbo between Smashwords and Kobo as the latter struggled to import newly published books.  Finally, it is there!  Just like the other locations where you can find the book, His Robot Wife sells at Kobo for 99 cents.  You can get it by following the link below.

His Robot Wife at Amazon Kindle

His Robot Wife continues to sell well and I want to thank all the Kindle users out there who purchased it.  It is available at many fine ebook stores, including Amazon.com, for 99 cents.  As of this date, it has sold over 2500 copies and I couldn’t be more please.  I guess technically I could, say, if it sold 5000.  🙂

Tesla’s Stepdaughters Preview at Feedbooks.

A special preview of Tesla’s Stepdaughters is now available for download at Feedbooks.com.  As with Princess of Amathar, you can download a good-sized sample of Tesla’s Stepdaughters from any of the ebook stores where you find it.  Feedbooks was such a great help in getting my name recognized when I was starting out a couple of years ago, that I wanted a presence there, even though they are not carrying the book.  If you want to check it out, follow the link below.

Work in Progress: Women of Power

Work is going well on Women of Power.  I’m doing a revision pass on the part that is already written, before I continue it.  I have to say, it’s pretty tight.  This is a fun story and I’m having a lot of fun with it.  If you would like to check it out, you can download Women of Power issues 1 and 2, which are essentially the first two chapters of the novel at Feedbooks.com.

Tesla’s Stepdaughters Free at Smashwords

Well, it’s just a day after I pointed out that Tesla’s Stepdaughters is available at Kobo Books.  It still is of course, but you can get your copy free at Smashwords until 7-31.  Be sure to use the coupon code SSWSF at the checkout.

Tesla’s Stepdaughters at Kobo Books

If you own a Kobo Touch Reader, or any of the previous models of Kobo products, just a reminder that you can purchase my book Tesla’s Stepdaughers from Kobo for 99 cents.  Follow this link: http://www.kobobooks.com/ebook/Teslas-Stepdaughters/book-14z8nyzYu0a5gCKPCferXw/page1.html

In a world where men are almost extinct, someone is trying to kill history’s greatest rock & roll band. Science Police Agent John Andrews must negotiate a complicated relationship with Ep!phanee, the band’s lead singer; drummer Ruth De Molay, bassist Steffie Sin, and the redheaded clone lead guitarist Penny Dreadful, as he protects them and tries to discover who wants to kill the Ladybugs.

Not only that, but you can still be the first one to review this book on their site.  Hope you like it.

Work in Progress: Women of Power

Now that I have finished the first draft of Blood Trade, I’m hard at work on finishing the draft of Women of Power.  I’m about 80% complete.  I really like this story.  On another note, I have been looking at some possible art for a live model cover for this book.  I’ve purchased the rights to some great model pics lately, including a piece for the next Eaglethorpe Buxton book and I may go that way for this one too.  On the other hand, it’s hard to get good live action super-heroics.

Princess of Amathar Preview at Feedbooks

There is a new preview of Princess of Amathar at Feedbooks.com.  You can find it here.  The thing is that you can get a free preview of this book at any ebookstore that carries it.  But Feedbooks was such a great help in getting my name established as an author and I wanted to get all of my books out on this site.  Unfortunately, Feedbooks, which became a bookseller in a addition to a free distributor not long ago, doesn’t let indies (who charge) publish through them.  I’m hoping that one of the distribution deals that Smashwords has in the works is with this site.  In the meantime, you can expect to see special previews of more of my works at Feedbooks.

First Draft Completed!

The first draft of Blood Trade is done!  I’m so happy, I’m giddy.  I’ve been working on this since early March.  There is still a lot to be done.  I just read chapter six to the Shared Word Writers Group, and while the reception was positive, there were many typos and mistakes to fix.  There are also more than a few rough spots that need to be smoothed out and some major revision to be done.

I’m setting it aside for at least a week, so that I can get a set of fresh eyes.  Then I’ll do the second draft.  That should only take me a few weeks.  I’ll let you know when I get there.  For now… Hooray!
